MEDIATED CITY
MEDIATED CITYProject DescriptionThe project harness existing RMIT expertise and international collaborations to investigate the intersections between design, technology and culture in the making and articulation of place. Situated within the broader context of Urbanisation, the projects mobilise the metaphor of a ‘city spine'. The practice based research articulates the complexity of the evolving culture of the city, its art, artefacts, people and networks and the long term social, cultural and environmental sustainability as a ‘lived’ environment is its foundation. It is also aligned with the key social trends or millennium goals aligned to mobility, aging populations, the advancement of technologies, and environmental extremes.
